Occupy Edinburgh: Preview



Recently the "Occupy" movement has swept across nations, nestled in the hearts of cities, and demanded peaceful change. Their slogan is "We are the 99%" meaning, we are the percentage that paid for the corporate bail-outs, yet nothing has changed. They are against violence and move to establish peaceful means to instigate chance.

This week Fran is joining the Occupy Edinburgh movement where people are camping outside of St. Andrew's Square (right across from the Royal Bank of Scotland [RBS]) to take a stance against corporate greed. He's planning to use this movement as the basis for his thesis, answering these questions: what extent to the people actually hope to instigate chance, and how have they have transformed space to meet their needs. I'll go up and spend Thursday night with them and you can anticipate with baited breath the article to come.
